MG Industrial Park Receives Funding for Upgrades


MG Industrial Park receives funding for upgrades
State Senator Roger Bedford announced on July 26th that the Alabama Bond Commission, on which he serves as a member, has secured $195,000 for needed upgrades to the 190 acre industrial park. The funds will be used to prepare a pad ready site for a future company or speculative building and will be used to extend an existing road, along with other aesthetic improvements. The MG Industrial Park is the only park in the county and was the third in the state to be designated an AdvantageSite by State officials. Download the press release.

ABC Agents May and Buchanan Speak at Business & Industry Leadership Program
NW-SCC Phil Campbell hosted a special extended Business & Industry Leadership Program. From Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Enforcement, Compliance Specialist Joey May and Agent Adam Buchanan presented a Compliance Update that included topics on drugs and alcohol, spotting fake ID's, and employer I-9 Forms. From Lowe Mobley, Lowe & LeDuke, Matthew LeDuke and Jonathan Lowe presented an Employment Law Update that included recent case law and best practices tips.

The Business & Industry Leadership Program is sponsored by the Franklin County Development Authority to provide information, insight, networking opportunities, and resources to business and industry leaders. The next meeting will be September 15th.

AIDT Leadership Development training programs introduce team leaders, supervisors, and managers to effective leadership responsibilities, communication skills, teamwork, and motivational techniques. Open House Ceremony Well-Attended for Spec Building


The Russellville Spec Building open house ceremony was held on November 10th. Over 50 people showed up to get a tour of the newly completed 55,700 sq. ft. building.

Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for $1.2 Million Training Center

Groundbreaking was held for the $1.2 million Multi-Skilled Training Center at NW-SCC, Phil Campbell Campus. Officials shoveled the first dirt in the groundbreaking ceremony held for the new $1.2 Multi-Skilled Training Center to be constructed at the Phil Campbell campus of Northwest-Shoals Community College. The Multi-Skilled Training Center will give NW-SCC students attending the Phil Campbell campus the added option of training to enter the workforce in either welding or machine tool (CNC).
